COMMUNITY HAPPENINGS:

Storytown Improv

Name: Storytown Improv

Date: February 13, 2016

Time: 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM CST

Website: http://www.storytownimprov.com

Event Description:

From superheroes to undersea adventures, princesses to dinosaurs, Storytown takes you on an interactive, fully improvised adventure. The actors use audience suggestions and ideas to create a different story every week. Kids design the setting and help shape the story. The actors, artists and musicians bring it to life. When the possibilities are endless, no two stories are ever the same.

CURRICULUM UPDATE:

Room 131 spent the past week reading and talking about some books such as Ballerina Rosie, Clink, and The Day I Lost My Superpowers. These were fun books that we chose to read and to act out as a group. Our goal was to get some more experience working in teams and working together as a class. We practiced our listening skills and worked on our ability to follow multi-step directions. It was also a great opportunity to use our imagination and improvisation skills as well. The entire class really enjoyed acting out the stories and adding their own twist as we went! Next week we will begin our new project and our topic will be Art.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!
