“The Mitten Song” by Rachel Buchman

Lyrics:

Thumbs in the thumb place, PING!
Fingers all together.
This is the song we sing in mitten weather!
Thumbs in the thumb place, PING!
Fingers all together.
This is the song we sing in mitten weather.
When it's cold, it doesn't matter whether
Mitten are wool, or made of finest leather.
This is the song we sing in mitten weather.... (hide them!)
(REPEAT FIRST 6 LINES)

Movements:

Hide your hands behind you. On "PING" bring them out, with fingers together, thumb sticking out. Wave them happily! Hide them and repeat. During the verse, begin low, waving hands from side to side, getting a little higher for each line. Begin hiding them on "this is the song we sing in mitten weather".
