Topic of the Week
Friendship and Love
This week the children have been exploring the concepts of love and friendship. During circle time, the children enjoyed singing "Skinamarinky Dinky Dink" and "You are my Sunshine." We also read, "Love from the Very Hungry Caterpillar". The children especially enjoyed sticking the Very Hungry Caterpillar velcro to the walls.
A favorite sensory activity, was playing with the snow inside. The toddlers enjoyed scooping it, painting it, melting it, and molding it. Many of the toddlers had the opportunity to observe the snow falling outside too!
In art, the children enjoyed using paper towel rolls to press heart shapes onto poster board. The toddlers also enjoyed spreading the paint onto a heart inside a sandwich bag. Many of the colors mixed to make new beautiful colors!
Tip of the Week
Love is Enough
Children often have questions about families that are different from theirs, Talk with your youngster about foster, adoptive, step, and extended families (those with grandparents or other relatives in the home). No matter who makes up a family, with love they're all the same.
