  • MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Kindergarten Information Night will be held on Wednesday, February 3rd at 4:30 pm. This meeting is for all parents of prospective Kindergarten and Jr. Kindergarteners. If your child will be turning 5 by December 31st, 2016, you are encouraged to attend. Please join us at our Information Night to find out more information on our comprehensive curriculum and how it is tailored to meet each individual child’s needs, interests, and abilities. Registration for the 2016-2017 Kindergarten year starts at the Information Night and continues until February 10th. If you have any questions, please contact Suzie Brunner at sbrunner@gbnchildcare.com or 847-564-3004.

  • ACCESSORIES: Please help us by refraining from sending your child with jewelry or excessive hair ties/clips to school. They become a distraction during group times, as well as a safety concern at nap time. We wouldn’t want for them to break or get lost.

  • MOVIE NIGHT: We are excited to announce 134’s Move Night. Please join us for dinner and a movie here at school in the Mini-gym on Wednesday, February 24th, from 4:30-5:45. Pizza and salad will be provided by the school. Everyone is invited to come dressed in pajamas for even more fun and comfort. [The children can wear pajamas all day!] We will put up an RSVP sheet by the clipboard. We would appreciate you letting us know if you will be joining us. Parents only please. Younger siblings have their own special night.

A highlight of our second week of “Winter, Water, Snow, and Ice,” began by reading Wake Me in Spring by James Preller and Snow Happy by Patricia Hussell. Both books highlight fun snow and winter activities. Afterwards, the children split up in groups and acted out different snow fun: Group one acted out making snow angels. Group two built snowmen, complete with a carrot nose and top hat. Group three made an igloo/snow house. Then all of the children pretended to enjoy a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows and whipped cream. Imaginations ran wild!

Next week snowmen will be a big part of our curriculum activities.
