This week has been very busy in 133 and we had a lot of information to get through!  The children discovered that dinosaurs are shaped differently based on where they live.  We looked at dinosaurs that lived on land, dinosaurs that lived in the water, and dinosaurs that flew through the air.  We noticed that dinosaurs who lived in water had flippers, or tails that looked like paddles.  These dinosaurs were called Ichthyosaurs.  We also saw that these dinosaurs had long sharp teeth for catching fish.  The air dinosaurs had wings that allowed them to soar through the sky.  Some of these flying dinosaurs, called Pterodactyls, had the same long sharp teeth as the water dinosaurs!  They also used them for catching fish!  The land dinosaurs had feet for walking around their environments to look for food.

We also learned that dinosaurs hatched from eggs.  Scientists have found dinosaur nests with batches of eggs in them.  We thought it would be fun to make our own dinosaur eggs!  We used water balloons and paper maché to create our eggs.  Next week, after they've dried, we are going to paint the eggs!
